Organa Panfired Green Tea has made this age-old processing technique for green tea readily available in single cups for use in your single cup plastic pod brewer. Once the tea leaves are removed from the plant, they are left to wilt, bringing out the natural scent of the leaves. The leaves are then roasted in a metal pan using high heat and constantly circulated to extract the moisture.

This process neutralizes that earthy, grassy, astringent flavor that is so commonly associated with green tea leaves that are steamed. The roasting brings out a mild toasted, almost nutty flavor. Both pan-fired and steamed are ways to prevent the oxidation of the tea leaves, but both result in very different flavor profiles.
